On a rainy October night, hundreds of colorfully clad, stylish fans pour into Southside Ballroom in Dallas, Texas, eagerly awaiting the performances of Ritt Momney (Jack Rutter) and Texas-based indie band Dayglow.

Jack Rutter, age 23, was born in Dallas but moved to Salt Lake City at a young age and originally formed ‘Ritt Momney’ as a band in high school, but later turned it into a solo act. He recently emerged into mainstream notoriety after his 2020 cover of “Put Your Records On” went viral on TikTok.

Rutter’s lyrics are introspective, emotional, and melodic, typically sung over distorted drums, piano, and guitar.

At 23 years old, Dayglow frontman Sloan Struble is rising to make his mark in the indie-dream pop soundscape with his mix of groovy 70s rock and 80s pop inspired sound. Struble grew up in Aledo, Texas, and eventually attended school at the University of Texas in Austin, where he would meet many of his current bandmates. His band currently consists of bassist Peyton Harrington, drummer Brady Knippa, keyboardist Norrie Swofford, and guitarist Colin Crawford.

Dayglow’s current guitarist, Colin Crawford, was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. He and Sloan met when they were both attending classes at the University of Texas in Austin. Late last year, Crawford expanded his discography to include his own solo act, using the moniker Colin’s Music. Colin’s Music has released 2 singles through Struble’s record label, Very Nice Records, titled ‘Lightswitch’ and ‘Ukulele’.

Dayglow became commercially successful with their Platinum Certified single, “Can I Call You Tonight?” that was featured on their debut album Fuzzybrain. In 2021, following the release of their second album, Harmony House, Dayglow continued to generate buzz and solidify their spot in the indie music genre.

Dayglow is currently touring across 8 countries to promote their new album People in Motion, released in October 2022. The official Dayglow website describes the project as following, “Fun and colorful, People In Motion meditates on the ideas of commitment, inner peace, and movement, while inviting the listener to the dance floor to leave the chaos and noise of our current culture behind.”

Although the band has many shows remaining on their People in Motion tour, the Dallas performance was special to Struble. During the last half, he announced to the crowd that he had grown up attending many shows at that venue himself, and reflected aloud how surreal it was to be on stage in front of a packed audience. In a post-show conversation with guitarist Colin Crawford, "It was the biggest venue Dayglow has played as a headliner. It was super special."
