One of the industry's most recognizable colorists, Justin Ponsor, passed away on May 18, 2019, after a two-year long battle with cancer, according to a Facebook post on his professional page.

Known lovingly as JPo, Ponsor has been an artist for Marvel Comics since 2005, where he regularly worked on some of Marvel's biggest IPs in books like Spider-Men, New Avengers, Death of Wolverine, and Star Wars.

Along with those titles, JPo's colors can be seen across Marvel's Ultimate Universe books like Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men, and Ultimate Fantastic Four.

Throughout the day, industry writers, artists, higher-ups, and even Marvel itself have been sharing their grief on Twitter, which you can see below.

Remembering Justin Ponsor through his mosaic of colors

RIP JPo, and Screw Cancer!

As we say goodbye to one of the best colorists of our time, I feel it's important to remind everyone to go to your local book store or comic store and pick up a graphic novel here and there. Pick up a story about one of your beloved characters, or something recommended to you by shop employees or friends. I promise, you won't regret it, and you'd be surprised to see how much of that itch it scratches for you between the MCU and DC films.
